Stocking Elementary School is located on the northwest side of Grand Rapids and serves approximately 400 pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students. With a strong sense of community, this historic school is made up of students and staff that represent cultures and languages from several different countries.

To assist its many English Language Learners, Stocking employs an English as a Second Language (ESL) model of instruction. The staff at Stocking believes that high expectations for learning, combined with respect and appreciation for diversity, are what separate Stocking from other schools. You are invited you to stop by and see for yourself why students are referred to as "Stocking Stars." Together, we make a difference!

Thanks to the generous support of the Doug and Maria DeVos Foundation, the Grand Rapids Public Schools is partnering with the University of Pittsburgh’s the Institute for Learning (IFL) on a three year process to establish effort-based schools where every child in every classroom has access to rigorous and coherent educational learning experiences.
